Dax is growing so fast

I left Dax with a friend yesterday for 3 1/2 hours while I was at the hospital. He played with her 2-yr-old son and really enjoyed himself. I called a couple times to check on him. He refused to talk to me on the phone! Usually he will get on and say "mama! mama!" and melt my heart.
Anyhow, when I went to pick him up, I saw him from the doorway playing with a toy. He looked up at me, absolutely glowing, with such a big grin on his face. It was as if he were saying, "Oh, hi, mom, I'm having lots of fun! Look at this cool toy!!" and then he went right back to playing.
That's all I got. A look. No running into my arms for a hug greeting or anything. Plus he wouldn't come when I told him we were going home. I had to go pick him up, and drag him kicking and screaming out of her house. He kept trying to push me away and slip out of my arms so he could run back.

My independent little baby. I got an email about him starting nursery in January, hard to believe he's nearly old enough for nursery! I suspect he won't have any trouble transitioning. He's such a social baby, I know he's going to love it. He really loves library class and it's so adorable watching him with all the other babies his age and him sitting and listening to the librarian.

Dax initiated ALL of his potty breaks today - I never took him, because he kept telling me when he needed to go. Him running to the bathroom door and making the "potty" sign never gets old. Plus when he initiates it, he always needs to go and there isn't that waiting around wondering if he's really going to go or not. He only wet 1 pair of underwear, and that was while he was in the high chair eating lunch. Maybe he'll be all potty trained by the time he gets to nursery in January. Crazy little boy, I thought he'd be in diapers for another year.
