20 minute nap??

Dax has never been much of a napper. He's been pretty consistent the past couple months, though. He naps for about 1 hour every day. Sometimes 2 hours, but usually 1. That's it, for the whole day.

Lately, he's really been fighting taking a nap. He'd rather play. So he's been falling asleep in the living room with a toy instead of in bed, and then I move him once he's asleep.

Recently, there have been a couple days here or there where he doesn't take a nap due to there no being a long enough time of quiet calm. Excitement, outings, visitors, sounds... all this will stop him from going to sleep. Once he's asleep, no big deal, I can vacuum and be loud and no problem. But before he's out, the conditions have to be juuuuust right.

Today he took a nap right around 1pm. Yay. But he woke up 20 minutes later. That was it, for the whole day. A 20 minute nap. Apparently that's all he needed, too, because he wasn't really fussy the way he gets when he misses his nap. He went down for bed super easy right at 7pm (that's our norm, he sleeps from 7pm until 7am). He did seem extra slow-motion-y just before dinner, and was less animated at dinner than usual, but that's pretty minor.

Some kids drop a nap around their 1st birthday, right? Is it possible he won't be napping much longer? He's almost 11 months old now. Can 12 hours of sleep be enough for a 1-yr-old? I was hoping I'd get to enjoy his daily nap a bit longer.
