Monthly Update

Dax is 7 months old.

Weight 23 pounds (guesstimate, he was 22lbs a month ago)
Length 29"
Head Circumference 18"

Clothing Size 18-month

Eating Eating 3 meals a day of solid foods in addition to nursing.

Developmental Milestones Making new sounds that are more clearly enunciated than his previous babble, he now says "baba, mama, more, dada, haha" His finger dexterity has massively increased now that he feeds himself 3 times a day. He's almost got pincer grasp down and it's fun to watch him pick up something as tiny as a pea or blueberry and maneuver it around with his finger and thumb. He's recently decreased putting everything into his mouth. Now he's more likely to pick it up and spin the item all around with his fingers as though he's solving a rubix cube.

Stuff baby likes He's gotten VERY into books lately. He really likes "Wheels go Round" "Green Eggs & Ham" and "You're My Little Lovebug" He's showing an interest in cars and wheels. He also quite obviously prefers the color blue.

New Foods In addition to the previous list, Dax has now also eaten:
peas
green bell pepper
yellow pepper
red pepper
orange pepper
green chilies
black crock pot beans
rice
onion
celery
acorn squash
white asparagus
butternut squash
blueberries
more apple varieties
ice water (yeah, he prefers ice cubes in his sippy, he likes it really cold)

Sippy cup:

Pincer (almost) grasp:

Here's Dax standing in the snow in our yard. He thought this was pretty fun. The snow was actually deeper than his waist, but that's as far as he sunk before enough snow packed underneath him to support his weight.

This amusing clip is Dax attempting to crawl. I think (hope) that's still a ways off, though.

I see he's progressing very well. Still a cutie! Ivy likes to watch the videos, as do I.

Hi Jessie! I gave you the Sisterhood Award! After all, you are my sister-in-law. I love seeing little Dax on your blog. It will be in my post on 3/2.
