Use for old socks!

I've finally made some babylegs for Dax! I've had my eye on them for a while, but they're too expensive for my cheapskate self to buy.
I didn't realize how easy it would be to make them from the tube part of already-existing socks! Plus this is great because our socks get worn out in the toes and heels, and that's the only part you don't use. Waste not want not. :)

I'm sure you'd have all kinds of fun cutesy options for girls, but I'm made some boyish ones for Dax out of faded worn black socks that now look gray.

Not having to bother with pants and easier diaper changes sound good to me, especially with my baby-clothes-and-snap-challenged husband! Plus this means my cute cloth diapers won't be covered up all the time. :)

It took about 5 minutes. :) VERY easy sewing project! I used crew socks, but it would be better/longer with knee high socks or tube socks.

Step 1 - find pair of socks

Step 2 - cut socks

Step 3 - fold foot portion in half into a tube, align with leg portion to get ready to sew

Step 4 - Sew! I zigzagged & straight stitched because I don't have a serger.

Step 5 - Oh wait, nevermind, no more steps. All done. :)

Put them on your baby:

I used to wear leg warmers, too. Back in the 80's. You're so creative, Jessie! :)
