We went to a lovely Christmas Eve party last night at a friend's house. It was a yummy Christmas-y dinner followed by a full re-enactment play of the Savior's birth story, complete with at least 7 songs thrown in there. And the star of the play? Little baby Dax, playing baby Jesus. Mary was played by a 9-year-old girl, though, and she couldn't carry him across the room cuz he's so big, ha ha. I sat him down in her lap once she was seated. Unfortunately, by the time the play started it was bedtime for Dax and he screamed and hollered and cried. Oh well. :)
The very authentic play also included live "sheep" that arrived with the shepherds. The sheep had long tails. They looked a lot like cats, but the kids assured me they were sheep. Oh, and they got Dax some Christmas pajamas that are pretty cute - size 24month and he's sleeping in them now, they're long on him but they actually kinda fit since the cuffs hold in the extra length in the arms and legs.
We drove home after the party and I put Dax in bed. Little angel fell asleep right away at 9:30pm. Just an hour late for bed, and he was fine. Then I wrapped the little present I got for my husband, and I wrapped the present for Dax and put them both under the tree. Now there are 4 presents under the tree. The other two are for me - from feeling/smelling/shaking/squeezing the packages during the past week, I'm guessing that one is a book and one is a CD.
It's Christmas morning, and I have a wonderful husband and a little baby. I couldn't be happier. They're both asleep even though it's 10am, and I can't decide which one to watch. :)
